I've enjoyed this series. I'm always eager to get to the next one to "drop back into" the lives of the characters whom I feel so familiar with. They seem like friends and family. This one was great, but short compared to the others. I was disappointed it had to end. Looking forward to see what happens next to my "friends".

This series is second or third only to such titles as "Tipping the Velvet,"and "Patience & Sarah." There are many wonderful characters, including the two principal protagonists, Ryan and Jamie, whose adventures, over time, are worth reading about. I recommend reading all 18 of the installments completed thus far, as well as those still to be written.

Contemporary scholars such as Kenneth Burke, Stephen Toulmin, and Chaim Perelman have refined Aristotle's wheel, and hence, improved upon it, but students of argumentation are well-advised to return, first of all, to the invention of the wheel—to examine its construction, to see how the basic structures operate in the argumentation process. Students of argumentation may, then, consider the refinements that have been made over the years. Using insights introduced by Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle and, later, fine-tuned by Stephen Toulmin, the book introduces deductive reasoning with its syllogism, rhetorical syllogism (the enthymeme), and Toulmin's six-part expansion of deductive reasoning. Inductive reasoning, with its reliance on examples and statistics is also introduced. Although argumentation is defined by Lindsay as primarily the logical proof presented by Aristotle (logos, as opposed to ethos and pathos), Lindsay extends Aristotle's concept of ethos to demonstrate the concept's reliance on the syllogism (logos), as well. Lindsay lists the eight primary characteristics of argumentation: 1. It is good; it allows rational individuals to reach rational conclusions, to make rational decisions. 2. It consists of offering proofs, not simply assertions. 3. It is the use of logic, as opposed to the use of emotion. 4. It is most successful when the participants do not feel an ego-centric need to win, but instead seek to find the most reasonable position on issues. 5. It may be used to test and maintain either an absolute truth or a probable truth. 6. It, at least, seeks to establish probable, possible, or plausible truth. 7. It is aimed primarily at producing faith/pistis, rather than absolute knowledge. 8. It uses proofs that consist only of logos, not ethos or pathos. To Aristotle's three contexts of rhetorical argumentation (judicial/legal, deliberative/political, and epideictic/cultural), Lindsay adds a fourth: arguments concerning all-time truth. Lindsay ultimately offers a thorough demonstration of how the multiple principles of argumentation are used to demonstrate that a problem exists, what caused the problem, what types of solutions to the problem are suitable, and how a complete proposal argument is put together.

There are enough conceptual weaknesses and blindspots in the legal-theoretical models against which international law is so frequently challenged to show that the perceived problem arises more in theory, than in practice. Backtrack 5 - Testing Wireless Secuirty

One of my favorite penetration tests is the wireless assessment. Backtrack 5 - Testing Wireless Security builds upon another of Packt's books BackTrack 5 Wireless Penetration Testing Beginners Guide in going a little more in depth of wireless penetration techniques. The book is short, sweet, and to the point at a commanding 108 pages and about 5 chapters (2 on setup, 2 on discovery/exploitation, and 1 on ensuring you're adhering to best practices for securing your network)

As a command line fanboy, one thing I wish this book covered more of was the use of the Aircrack-NG suite of tools from the command line. While there are some GUI tools out there (and this book covers them), I would still recommend that users get familiar with these tools as they are still the best in this space.

Overall, I'd recommend this book to someone new to wireless assessments.

I'm not really sure what this author was trying to accomplish with this read. The key to being a successful writer IMO is to gain a readers interest. This book is written without mistakes but is nothing that will stand out. This book is predictable in that there is any number of of P&P varaiations out there with passion written in the pages. Linda Berdoll, Ola Wegener, Abigail Reynolds are a few off the top of head and whats more you get a complete story with their books. The fact that this book is 11 pages and .99 is such a disappointment and had it not been Kindle Unlimited would have never been read by me. It is not erotic which is what is usual in a short read. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Not much story here

This is quite short. It just describes fully clothed sexual foreplay initiated by ELizabeth with Darcy in the carriage immediately following their wedding and wedding breakfast, then getting as quickly to their chambers as possible once they arrive at Darcy House. There's nothing that makes this a Pride and Prejudice story except the character names. Could have been any newly-married Recency couple riding in a carriage. The writing itself is okay. Glad I read it through Kindle Unlimited - I would not have been happy to pay for this.

One writer's Darcy fantasy

It is a truth universally acknowledged that every lady, whether young, old, or in-between, who has read Pride & Prejudice or seen one of the film adaptations, has Darcy fantasies. Margaret Gale's brief fantasy should have been on an Austen-author fiction site, or included in a book of short stories, or as a chapter in a longer tale. By itself there's not much substance. The story is told from a rather creative point of view -- and is also rather naughty. So if you like that sort of thing, it's worth reading.

What about the 'A' word?

I am absolutely shocked that the author of this book claims to be a socialist. The word 'equality' comes up hundreds of times, which is fine in connecting socialist politics with existing movements. However there's no larger vision directing readers to the general contours of what a liberated sexual society might look like. Without that vision, any movement for LGBT liberation will wither on the vine once the two main political demands Wolf makes in this book are met (repeal of DADT, which is mentioned on 30 pages, and same-sex marriage legalization, which is alluded to on 50 pages!). The fact that DADT has recently been repealed and gays have since this books initial publication won the right to get married throughout most of New England not only undermines her ill-advised functionalist argument that capitalism somehow depends upon and is therefore the source of homophobia. It also means that much of what she spends time getting outraged about in this book is quickly becoming a non-issue. So much for being on the cutting edge or vanguard of mass politics. Do LGBT people call it a day and rest contentedly on their laurels now, or is there something more to fight for in the realm of sexuality, like maybe liberation? Clearly Wolf would respond in favor of the latter, but by focusing so strongly on equality at the expense of liberation she is unable to offer a real way forward past the political framework established by bourgeois society.

Useful in breaking that framework would have been some discussion of the a-word: 'alienation,' a term that comes up on exactly two pages in what amounts to a superficial discussion of Wilhelm Reich's earlier work. This oversight would not be so damning were it not for the established literature on alienated sexuality within Marxian literature, a literature extending far beyond Reich's contribution (see Alan Soble's 'Pornography'). Instead Wolf is too busy calling for equality to bother with developing an identifiably socialist understanding of sexuality that could benefit heterosexual people as well as LGBT people. A shame, really, considering the amount of attention this book has received and how large its potential audience is. My advice is to acquire Mario Mieli's Homosexuality and Liberation: Elements of a Gay Critique and compare it to this work. You'll notice immediately which one is calling for a liberatory sexual politics.

Invaluable Analysis of LGBT Liberation Politics

As an organizer that has been completely swept up in the movement for marriage equality and beyond, I found this book to be a clear, materialist analysis of where LGBT oppression comes from and what to do about it. It also makes a strong argument through some of the best LGBT history for political struggle from bellow being the decisive force in combating homophobia. The author makes a brilliant case for how sexual liberation of all people is inextricably linked to combating homophobia. Ultimately with a movement on the rise happening at the same time as rising unemployment and poverty, the politics of solidarity and socialism are more relevant than ever in building the LGBT struggle. It is so refreshing to talk about how gender and sexuality haven't always been this rigid and how things don't always have to be that way, that a revolutionary overthrow of the sexual order of the day is possible. Sexuality and Socialism contains vital history that has been buried from so many of our history books such as unified, steadfastly pro-gay black and white integrated workers organizations in the 1930's. This makes me proud to be a fighter for LGBT Liberation and ultimately, working class revolution.

Good Survey, but Lacks Depth

Too much of a survey for me, I was looking for and hoping for a little more depth and less of a synthesis of things about history and theory I already know. The last two chapters reached for a prescription for depth, but did not necessarily get there. Well written, but you can see the author's obvious biases in some of the chapters. If I had worked my way through this book with a pen in hand I might have more to say on a point by point basis, but in a survey here there is so much information. What I expect will be the most useful and interesting part of the book is the bibliography and suggestion for further reading. It made me want to crack back open my old Marx/Engels reader and hit up some of the sections I haven't read yet, mostly Engels's take on the rise of the modern family under capitalism.
